CPA Ethics course approved by Oregon State Board of Accountancy for four hours of professional ethics credit.

Description: This four-hour live course is designed to be relevant for CPAs in business, industry, nonprofits, and government as well as CPAs in public practice.

The course content focuses on the Oregon Accountancy Act, Board Rules and prohibited practices. The course material is regularly updated for the most recent changes to the Oregon ethics rules. The updated content includes recent revisions to the AICPA Code of Professional Responsibility and new ethics rules covering CPAs who give clients financial planning advice.

The course format is discussion-based and lively: participants divide into small groups to solve short ethics case studies that address how the board rules apply to practical situations facing Oregon CPAs. Ethical issues are presented in situations typically seen by practicing CPAs.

On-Line: Class size is limited to twelve participants and remains discussion based. The week before your class date, we will send you an email with instructions for attending your live CPA ethics class and PDFs of the course materials.

A Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to you at the end of the on-line class.

Instructor: Jim Jurinski, Attorney/CPA (Oregon and Washington).
Jim, has taught classes on accounting ethics in Portland and the Seattle area for a number of years. He formerly served on the AICPA subcommittee that oversees ethics testing on the CPA Exam. Jim has published several articles on both accounting ethics and the legal problems of accountants facing malpractice charges. moreยป
