The course content focuses on the Washington Accountancy Act, Board Rules and prohibited practices. The course material is regularly updated for the most recent changes to the Washington ethics rules. The updated content includes recent revisions to the AICPA Code of Professional Responsibility and new ethics rules covering CPAs who give clients financial planning advice.

The course format is discussion-based and lively: participants divide into small groups to solve short ethics case studies that address how the board rules apply to practical situations facing Washington CPAs. Ethical issues are presented in situations typically seen by practicing CPAs.
